Baklava

This is such as traditional, classic dessert in Greece. This is like Greek rendition of the Turkish dessert. This dessert is made with multiple layers of phyllo pastry spread with melted butter. Light layer of nuts are also added. Then, silky cinnamon syrup is poured over it once it is baked, adding the sweetness to this dessert. 

Rizogalo

This is Greek dessert that resembles rice pudding. It is prepared by combining glutinous sticky rice, heavy cream, water, cinnamon sticks, cardamom, and sugar. More ground cinnamon is added on the top and then it is served cold in a glass bowl. Sometimes, rose water is poured over the dessert to make it taste more refreshing. 

Kadaifi 

This is also another dessert with adapted from Turkish dessert. This is made with shredded phyllo pastry, pistachios, butter, walnuts, cinnamon and spiced syrup. There is also another version when they use custard instead of nuts. Or, sometime they incorporate chocolate into the recipe to enrich the flavor. The texture of the phyllo is crunchy and soft. It is best served cold and perfect for summer. 

Bougatsa

This is custard pie in Greek version, made with phyllo pastry and then filled with custard. The custard itself contains semolina, sugar, and milk. It is then baked and cooled. Thin layer of icing sugar is added on the top of it along with cinnamon powder. There is also savory version of Bougatsa many Greek love. 

Spoon Sweets

This is such a unique dessert in Greece made with thickly cut fruit, water, and sugar. They are then flavored with lemon juice. All fruit is boiled until it has almost jam texture. It is then stored in jars and cooled. However, it can also be eaten directly from the spoon, hence the name. Another variation of this dessert is when they add more ingredients than solely fruits such as rose petals, walnuts, and tomatoes. 

Melomakarona

This is traditional Greek Christmas honey cookies made with flour, oil, semolina, orange zest, and various spices such as cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. It is then baked and soaked in spiced syrup. Honey and walnuts are added on the top. Some people also love to add chocolate or chestnuts. Many households in Greece have this sweets throughout December and January. However, these cookies can be enjoyed basically at anytime. The taste is a bit unique due to the combination of spices and orange zest, making it warming and refreshing at the same time.
