How To Get To Komodo National Park?

The closest settlement to Komodo Island is Labuan Bajo on the island of Flores. Part of the Lesser Sunda series of islands in East Nusa Tenggara (Republic of Indonesia). It is a natural choice for visitors to the region because it is close to Komodo.

Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Batik, and Nam Air offer flights to Labuan Bajo Airport from both Bali and Jakarta. A cab from the airport to the town, which is less than 10 minutes away and should be arranged before entering. Alternatively, the distance may be walked in 20-30 minutes.

You’ll begin your Komodo tour in Lombok and travel to Labuan Bajo. Where you’ll see all of the region’s highlights, including Komodo National Park, Pink Beach, Padar Manta Point, and much more!

Alternatively, for those on a shoestring budget, a ferry + minibus + overnight bus + ferry service from Labuan Bajo to Lombok takes just over 24 hours. Another of Indonesia’s island paradises, it’s the ideal place to stay if you’re planning a trip to the Gili Islands.

Things to do around Komodo National Park

Komodo trips must be planned in detail. Many rogue trip operators miss several destinations due to a lack of time to reach the area. Some destinations that must be included in your Komodo tour package list:

Komodo Island

Island habitat for rare reptiles should definitely be included in your trip. The park rangers/guides will also advise you not to go to the restroom alone. Do not stare the dragons in the eyes, and keep your head down. For girls on their period take extra precautions! Dragons have a highly acute sense of smell and may attack if they smell blood. However, if you follow the regulations, you should be able to have the wonderful pleasure of witnessing Komodo Dragons. However, there are no promises with wild animals!

Padar Trekking

Padar Island is the third largest island in Komodo National Park, and trekking to its summit gives you an opportunity to see one of Indonesia’s most magnificent views. The hike itself is quite difficult. Although they are gradually developing the site and have steps at the bottom level, the terrain is sandy with many loose pebbles.

Pink beach

Due to the abundance of tropical fish and well-preserved gorgeous reefs just off the shoreline, Pink Beach is featured on most Komodo tour and is also an excellent site for snorkeling. Remember to bring your finest camera! Because of the coral’s close proximity to the surface, some of the best underwater photography in the world can be found here!

Manta Point Diving

In Komodo National Park, Manta Point is one of the best places in the world to swim with these wonderful creatures. The strong currents here attract manta rays, and you may drift along with them as they gracefully swim around you. Beautiful coral, a plethora of colorful fish, and, if you’re lucky, a pair of turtles will glide by to say hello.
